Fox news printed an interesting story today … Microsoft Releasing Old-School Video Games for Xbox 360 … which cam from Associated Press …
Microsoft plans Wednesday to offer some additional updated versions of popular 1980s-era games through Xbox Live Arcade, an online service that lets people download free trial games and buy them for $5 to $15. “
Greg Canessa, a group manager for Xbox Live Arcade, reported that the downloadable games have reaped surprising profits, and so they’ll offer new games each Wednesday for five weeks.
This was the ringer though: “Many people initially thought the Xbox Live Arcade, with its focus on less complex games, would be a potential draw for children, women or older players who don't fit the young male demographic traditionally associated with Xbox 360 owners.“
Please tell me I read this wrong… “Less complex games would be a potential draw for women…”. There are still so many conversations we could have to illuminate the value and differences in people’s brains so that strengths are listed as strengths and not pegged as “lesser than….” I hope that was a typo…. What do you think?
