Does Mexico's Leadership Race Offer any Hope?

I read in
Reuters today that writer Alistair Bell shows as the same Mexican election.jpgproblems I see in US and Canadian leadership and hope it can be addressed in a way that people once again have a reason to look forward and hold onto hope. What do you think…?

At this point, Mexican people are left only to simmers after another contested vote...

The left … which claimed the 1988 presidential vote stolen, is frustrated by yet another contested election. Is this because both leaders are the effective change agents this country needs to survive past leadership…?

Conservative candidate Felipe Calderon shouted victory in Sunday's hard-fought presidential election and official returns showed anti-poverty campaigner Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador had lost his race to catch him.

Harvard-educated Calderon nabbed a one-point lead over Indian welfare officer Lopez Obrador on Monday…  after almost 98 percent of polling stations were in. Who’d have thought that could happen…?

Neither candidate claims that vote-rigging eroded the election results,  which … according to the Federal Electoral Institute … are still too close to call. What do you think we can learn from this race…?

As I watched the approaches both took to win the race and claim their prize… I also saw more of what we can expect after the spotlight leaves the winner’s circle…? Do you think that another process would bring out the real leaders and allow them to take a nation like to a better place? The system we are using is not doing the trick…. At least that’s what I read in Reuters this morning….

Then I read a thought from
Malcolm Munro’s post… Why the World Doesn’t Need Superman… over at LeaderNotes… that gave me hope – “Nobody needs Superman - the Great Man concept is dead. We need individual Great Men and Great Women to step up wherever they are. All of us have opportunities every day to take on the role of the leader. People around us need credible individuals to get them through - not in the large areas, but in the small spots of influence each of us have.”

Malcolm’s concept of what I can do today … kind of gets my day up and running in a better direction…. Any connection here as you see it…?
