Benefiting at work from Brain Based Insights

Researchers at  Radiological Society of North America now tell us that memory loss impacts more brainpower than once thought.

It’s a shock to see people we know begin to lose their ability to remember the simplest things.   New research reveals memory loss that is linked to early Alzheimer's disease  in altered activity in several areas of the brain.

Researchers at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. , used a special, high-field- strength, functional magnetic resonance imaging  scanner to study the brain activity of people with mild cognitive impairment, which is a precursor to Alzheimer’s. Surprisingly, they found altered functionality in both the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

Previous studies showed atrophy restricted to the temporal lobe, a region critical to long-term memory formation.
