It's out and it's rewiring older brains into younger sharpness. You can take a few tests to get your DS Brain Age -- then lower that age weekly with fun daily mental teasers.
A fellow blogger and friend, asked me about the game, Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day, and that sparked a post on these quick mental activities that help keep your brain sharp…. The tasks include fast paced ... but rather simple ... math problems, classical literature problems and number puzzle games that can be quite addictive.
This quickly catching on game, is inspired by the research of Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, a well known and respected Japanese neuroscientist. His goal in creating the game was to… “elevate the impact of performing certain reading and mathematic exercises to help stimulate the brain.”
Especially popular is the exercise on day one…. Where you take a
series of tests and get a score that determines your DS Brain Age. Then, by doing daily exercises for a fw minutes a day over weeks and months, the lower your DS Brain Age becomes. Now who wouldn’t go for a fun, mental teaser, that makes you younger weekly?
Makes me wonder if there is a cut off age where you stop moving down…? What an interesting concept, and since the game uses what we know about keeping brains alive and well… it only makes sense that the game cover asks: “Is your brain young or old?”

I was thrilled when my son asked me for this game and told me how addictive it was. I might even get my own DS now!
