"Humor helps just about everything in the brain and in business ..."![]()
Make this statement and people tend to tell you hilarious stories… Recently a colleague told me he observed men’s and women’s brains clash in a funny way … in the previous week at a work retreat....
After a boring day, where conflict hit the table again and again, slowing down progress… women complained that guys pushed their weight around and hardly let them in at all. Guys countered that the women talked too much about stuff nobody else cared about…. Ever find yourself there…?
Agreeing to disagree … both sides broke ranks to relax after dinner…. The guys grabbed a beer and watched a football game... the gals skinny-dipped in the shallow lake while the sun dipped across the warm summer horizon….
Amid splashes and laughter somebody heard suspicious rustles in the bushes and one women called out:
“… don’t even consider it…”
“… consider what?” a male’s voice called back across the night. “Nobody gets out of the water till you’re gone,” the woman called from the lake.
“Hey, calm down lady,” he replied, … didn’t even know you were here…I just came down during the football break to feed my pet alligator.”
Did you know that humor is good for your brain and it seems humor is also good for business. Is laughter alive at your firm?. More and more research is coming out about how humor helps people and businesses become more productive.
While there are still many benefits to quantify, researchers are on the path of humor’s action in brains, with almost as much intensity as they have followed disadvantages caused by brain in a depressed or angry state.
Those who laugh tend to succeed more … and now there’s new research coming out that also links humor to health and healing…. What makes you laugh…?
