A reader at Brain Based Business inspired this series of posts about getting past stress for several reasons. That reader named the stressors that many of us face on a regular basis. Then reflective questions raised our curiosity for more – that’s how the brain works in open minded people. The reader then inspired us to think about ways to get past stress … through the words left in a comment…
“...After a particularly stressful day at work yesterday, I am sure that I had an unusually high secretion of cortisol this morning. Redirecting my intellect to more useful purposes...such as this blog, helps tremendously. That is what I think.”
That comment inspires many of us to look for and use brain based tactics that take us into new landscapes so that we can see our situation from another perspective.
Here are a few tactics that come to mind:
1). Reflect to see what is ruining your calm… many stresses hit this reader.
2). Name the problem as you see it… when the mind sees clearly … it prepares a response in your favor
3). Redirect your thoughts away from the problem to consider the possible solutions… and your brain will help you level the barrier and bust past the hurdles
4. Track your progress… so can drop what works less well, and step up what works to diminish stress and bring back your well-being.
When you consider you can add ten years or more onto your life through the power of a stress-free mind … it seems worth a try to tackle stress much like our reader did here. Add to that a few tips for adding more serotonin – the hormone for well-being … to your day….
