The part that people tend to most avoid in brain based problem solving
strategies is the evaluation part… It’s not difficult to do if you set out with clear criteria to measure and it is critical to evaluate possible alternatives. If you start your evaluation by gathering suggestions from others in your circle their specific feedback about whether the problem was solved with winning benefits or not, can spark new the group questions you raise with another group.
Then try out a few suggestions and observe the effects in terms of their ability to resolve the problem. It’s worth the time because when problems show evidence of being solved a firm goes forward with more buy-in from both workers and customers.
A few considerations here will ensure more long-lasting changes that will likely go to the heart of your problem. You’ll want to ask: Was the problem eliminated? Were there better ways to bring people together as part of the solution? Did you hear opposing views on the issues? Were there several ways used to evaluate the alternatives so that most people ended up agreeing on the alternatives selected?
What would your question be is you were evaluation a solution to a problem you solved…?
