Who's Smart and Who's Not...?

Who’s smart and who’s not so smart in your world…? Is the genius… for you… the guy who scores high on tests in an MBA program or the Thinking again.gifwoman who creates the brilliant ad for software that made big business rich…? Or is it something else…?

Dr. Dean Keith Simonton, professor of psychology at the University of California , Davis , and the author of Genius and Creativity, Scientific Genius: A psychology of Science, Greatness: Who Makes History and Why makes interesting new inroads into intelligence … creativity… and leadership. According to Dr. Simonton … genius is often defined by IQ scores but he prefers genius status that comes from unusual personal achievements. Why …?

Simonton writes that many people who get high IQ scores are not known for groundbreaking accomplishments at all…. Lasting genius takes high intelligence together with creativity… imagination… and an ability to think "outside the box."

Good news for those who…like Einstein… did poorly at school but who made genius-level achievements. What do you think…?
