To Regenerate Axons was an Unattainable Goal and it Happened...

The news is full of proof that life limits you daily… So those of us who sip newspapers.jpgcoffee and read the local paper … start our work day with a head full of what went wrong or promises to wipe us out… When the brain focuses on disappointing results … our actions tend to follow in a paper writing.gifsense of doom. See more problems at work that possibilities…?  In the last post you saw a group of scientists who looked beyond the problem of paralysis and because they went after a new vision … it seems a cure is near…

Interestingly ...paralysis results when axons break their connections to other cells … much like mental paralysis follows when we break away from a lofty vision that guides us. Look down the halls where you work and see who is led by the firm’s vision for greatness.

The ability to regenerate axons was simply an unattainable goal … or so most people thought…. But Martin Schwab, chair of the department of morphology… at the University of Zurich’s Brain Research Institute … moved a new vision for healing into reach…In a series of studies he re-grew axons along a rat’s spine and reconnected these with their target cells… opening the door to most of spinal restoration discoveries we see today…

Not that Schwab denied the problems that exist. For instance… be saw that the body’s natural inclination is to set cells in place… much like an artists sets a marble mosaic in place by pouring cement into the cracks to hold it firm. Yet…in spite of similar inhibitory factors present in the brain…he went on to remove them in ways that brought a regenerative response from damaged nerve tracts…

Repairing damaged visions at work takes the same kind of vision to see past the parts of today’s news that hold possibilities for rejuvenation. Damaged neuron repair and gene therapy was Dr Schwab’s goal… and he made it work… What problem do you face that could lead your business to a new breakthrough…?  Why not look beyond the news and reclaim your vision…? Stop by and let us know where your own brain takes you though….
