This serves a dual purpose because the rubric can also be offered as a help to any independent evaluator …. which I find always brings an appreciative nod for the work it measures….
Rubrics or a brief list of criteria expected in the outcomes…. create signposts and light pathways in the brain … so they add clearly marked routes to guide problem solvers toward new destinations.
Move multiple approaches to any destination by encouraging teams to take alternative choices along converging highways. Hold a contest and watch the teams fly toward a smarter solution….
