Problems hit every leader – but those who build new neuron pathways for possibilities, energize and inspire creative approaches for innovative solutions.
According to Robert Kennedy, most people reach their visions, more from problems they solve to move forward, and less from opportunities that are handed to them. Kennedy quoted George Bernard Shaw who said:
-- Some people see things as they are and say, Why?"
-- I dream of things that never were and say "Why not?"
Do you ask “Why,” or do you reflect on a vision and ask, “Why Not?”
Tips below may add a “Why Not?” reflection today that moves you closer to an innovative business solution.
Reflective questions that lead to personal renewal and away from blame:
1. How are you adding to your own passion and enthusiasm for quality outcomes, and adding to others’ motivation as you go?
2. How have you showed that you cared what others think and do by entering into diverse worlds beyond your own circles?
3. How are you being surprised by joy daily, and it how does this joy come across to those you encounter within the ebb and flow of ordinary events?
4. How do your practical actions encourage steady progress that results in growth?
5. How do you value experiences you have lived, and how do you build new experiences onto established roots in symbiotic links together?
6. How are you learning to laugh at little things and at yourself at work?
7. How are you showing generosity to question people and events daily in order to motivate great interactions from deep to deep, before you make decisions.
8. What positive metaphors become your lenses to live integrity and care, within images that prosper your own and the firm’s plans for improvement?
9. How do you help others to step out past criticism and risk dancing into new insights available to those who move forward even on a dreary day.
10. How do you question your own performance at each day’s end, by asking, Where to from here?
