Fellow writer and friend, Ann Michael, at Manage to Change, asked a question which challenged me to look again at how I capitalize on
diversity at work….
Ann asked: ”What do you do to make sure you’re hearing opinions that differ from yours? What do you do when you
hear opinions that differ from yours?” How would you answer…?
Ann added, “Diversity applies to people, to places, to experiences. The more you have to draw upon the richer your life, and the greater your capabilities, will be….”
To Ann’s thoughtful questions… I’d like to suggest practical tactics from yet another part of the brain…. Here are tips to enable your bodily-kinesthetic or movement brain parts to rewire for more diversity:
1. Take a walk over the lunch break with a person you don’t know well. Ask how that person would go about a business project you have in mind….
2. Meet for a fun and competitive sport that all works agree they would enjoy…
3. Select a game of the month from different cultures represented at work and hold contests with small prizes for winners…
Would you agree that movement or kinesthetic intelligence can actively bring cultures together for winning benefits…? If so..make it fun and even more people will jump in….

I sense that teamwork in sports brings folks together. Maybe a company softball team or sponsoring childrens' t-ball teams would help folks feel like they're working together. This sense of camaraderie would spill over to the workplace. People who "play" together usually work well together!
