If directions were thought of as problems to which you're offering accurate solutions…I’d like to see the data on how many get solved…
Mapblast or Yahoo driving directions do it right more than not… they offer an exact layout in words ...and then they throw in a picture too for extra clarity…which is likely why we get there more than not….
Do you ever see fog and blurred images only from directions you read…? For example...I’ve been reading tons about linkbacks and trackbacks and in cyber lingo have come to see that these things make blogs talk to each other .... The message YOU NEED TO GET 'EM... rings loud and clear ... but you might as well tell me quick how to build a rocket ship before breakfast ....and then walk off before you hear why it's not going to happen.... Unclear directions kill time and waste talent....
After days of frustration and failed attempts to understand, there are still no hooks in my brain to stick that stuff…and there are no extra intelligences appealed to so that I can make it work in another way… As a result… I still have no linkbacks happening in any blog I write…and no trackbacks tracking whatever they are supposed to track …. And if blogs are supposed to talk to each other …. my blog’ll stay stuck in its rut until I can find clear directions that make sense to my challenged technical noodle….
Directions... from the brain’s perspective … work best if they include examples that appeal to another intelligence or two … because that clarifies links to people’s unique cognitive maps …. We can all understand and follow more directions when we are beamed signals that we can visualize... for instance. Spatial intelligence enhances good directions because it appeals to another domain of the mind …
For instance …if you offer a clear image in the order that people will follow each step … and these images are accompanied with words… you ratchet up the changes that the guy on the other end will nail the image you had in mind when you told ‘em what to do…
Any mapblast kind of images out there to get a blog talking to other blogs or tracking back to mine….?
