Today I readi an interesting note from the University of Southern California, that expects to hand us tools soon to measure music’s
impact on our emotional intelligence…. Seems an engineering class at USC used computational modeling of music which integrated approaches from music theory, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, experimental psychology, mathematics, signal processing and neuroscience to look at how music influences emotions….
Professor Elaine Chew, a pianist and engineer, and the Viterbi Early Career Chair from USC, helped students to answer the question…how does music express and evoke emotion…? Elaine Chew and her students don't have exact answers yet…but since they have taken on the questions many have asked and few have measured accurately yet…I’ll continue to follow this one and keep you posted….
What music tends to change how you feel or what you accomplish you work …?
