Ever met a person who lamented that others in the family are far smarter…. While it’s true that some people seem to enjoy more success because of genes they are born with, there is more to intelligence than genes swimming in any pools that come in a birth package…. Intelligence is also a process of patterns you can learn throughout life – well past your golden years it turns out. Ok, that may interest me far more at my age than it does you at yours... I’ll concede. 
It should be good news to each of us, though, that we can burn strong far past the senior years when we expected to burn out. No, I am not there yet either but I know the science and so can you share it with people who’ve settled for less than they should….
Bet you are asking…Ok, so what can I do to better my situation…right? Start with a question to which you expect to find an answer tomorrow… Questions open the day with curiosity, and enable us to act more from a sense of wonder than out of mere routine. You’ll rarely see great questions come from rednecks and you’ll often be challenged by them from successful people. Questions prevent passivity that leads to failure….Still think others in your family are smarter than you? Try asking, “How can I approach one old problem I face in a new way? Where could a slight shift in thinking lead you…?
